Sanatech - the new trade show, conference and training event - caters for a broad spectrum of organic, environmentally sustainable production sectors: agro-food, animal husbandry, forestry, personal care, bio-cosmetics and environmental protection. It is Italy's professional response to the Green Deal project recently launched by the European Union.

Sanatech is designed for both professionals already engaged in organic production but also all those planning to soon be part of a sector offering extraordinary opportunities.

In order to carry out this important task, given the breadth and complexity of the supply chains involved, Sanatech must be based on solid technical and scientific guidelines covering the full production supply chain, including primary and secondary processing but also the latest climate safeguard and clean energy measures.

This key task is the responsibility of the Sanatech Advisory Board, whose members include major FederBio organic production companies and operators in the processing and innovation sectors.

The various Board members provide key input on their sector of reference. The result will be an international event that will reflect the state-of-the-art of the broad organic production sector, highlight best-practice production and environmental solutions, and pass them to a raft of professional training and communication events.

A.N.I.D.

Associazione Nazionale Imprese Disinfestazione

Founded on 21 April 1997, the National Association of Pest Control Companies (A.N.I.D.) is headquartered in Rome but with its Secretariat in Forlì. Its 470 member companies operate in the environmental hygiene sector, in particular providing pest and rodent control and disinfection services.
At European level, A.N.I.D. is a member of CEPA (the Confederation of European Pest Associations), the umbrella confederation headquartered in Brussels and representing all European associations, including those recently formed in Eastern European countries.
A.N.I.D. held the Presidency of CEPA from September 2002 to 2004.
In Italy, A.N.I.D. represents pest control companies throughout the country. Members include pest control service providers, as well as manufacturers and distributors of pest control products in all regions of Italy. The list of members can be viewed on our website (www.disinfestazione.org). A.N.I.D. member companies employ a large proportion of the several thousand workers in a sector, which both in Italy and the rest of Europe is undergoing technological and professional change, driven largely by the introduction of compulsory norms such as EU Regulations 852-853/2004 on food hygiene, EC Reg. 1272/2008 (the Biocides Directive), but also by the more stringent health measures in the wake of emerging hazards such as human and environmental arboviruses. A.N.I.D. is a signatory of the 2001 Italian National Collective Labour Agreement and the Labour Agreement of 19.12.2007, updated and supplemented on 31 May 2011, which covers workers in the multiservice, cleaning and pest control sectors. The services provided by A.N.I.D. members impact: the Health sector, given the products used – which are classified according to their toxicity - and the methods employed; the Industrial sector, since its specialist operations require highly skilled, continuously updated professionals; Welfare, given the fact that as part of a modern market economy, our sector provides many job opportunities; and finally, the Environment, with our commitment to ensuring the lowest environmental impact possible and to averting any ecological issues. The Association regularly engages with trade unions on behalf of its members and represents them before the competent public authorities. As well as keeping its members updated on a range of pertinent issues, providing relevant material, A.N.I.D. communicates with the specialist and general press and other information channels on sector topics. The Association represents its members at trade association level, provides basic middle-management training for its members, organizes conferences, technical and business meetings, and represents member companies at European and international level.

SOCIETA’ ITALIANA DI CHIMICA AGRARIA

SICA, the Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry was founded in 1981 as a point of reference for researchers and experts from a range of institutions, such as universities, consortia, industrial and other bodies engaged in the study and experimentation of chemical and biochemical substances in agriculture. SICA aims to disseminate knowledge and promote study and research into chemicals in agriculture, taking into account the effects of chemical activity on farming productivity and the environmental factors determining outcomes. The Society’s current area of scientific interest is mainly the chemical, biochemical, physiological and environmental features of the soil-water-plant-environment system, the interaction of these factors, and the process of accumulation, mobilisation and absorption of both useful and harmful endogenous and exogenous chemical substances under optimal and stressed conditions. Biotechnological investigations to identify innovative technical methods of regulating ways to improve yields and their quality, and preserve, improve and restore soil fertility and health are also of major importance.

SIPe

SOCIETA’ ITALIANA DI PEDOLOGIA

Founded in Palermo in 1997, the Italian Society of Pedology is a non-profit scientific society. SIPe aims to promote, support and coordinate soil science research and its many applications, ranging from agricultural and environmental issues, protection of the soil as a common good and the safeguard of natural environments, to pedo-archaeology, the recovery of degraded soils, and the study of the mineralogical, physical, chemical and biological components of the soil. The wide range of activities in which Italian pedologists are involved has made SIPe on of the world’s most active soil mapping and classification groups, working together with the technical committees of the main soil classification systems: USDA and FAO. One of SIPe's tasks is to foster relations and cooperation between experts in the field, whether teachers, professionals or amateurs. To do this, SIPe promotes a wide range of soil-study activities, maintains links with scientific societies with similar interests, and liaises with public and private institutions. Aware of the enormous importance of our soil resources,

SIPe aims to:

  1. - ensure soil that is able to generate and maintain the equilibria of the planet’s ecosystems for future generations;
  2. - preserve the soil’s biodiversity (pedo-diversity) and its varied uses as the only means of enabling diversified production and the production of healthy food;
  3. - allow society to grow in harmony with the Earth system.

SOCIETA’ ITALIANA DI SELVICOLTURA ED ECOLOGIA FORESTALE

Operating since 1995, the scientific society SISEF aims to promote forestry science and awareness at national and international level. The Society encourages research and studies into the structure and functioning of forest ecosystems and their sustainable management based on principles of eco-compatible development and conservation of biological diversity at genetic, species and habitat level. It also promotes studies on dendrology, arboriculture, forest planning, agroforestry, as well as investigations into furthering forestry resources, with particular reference to forest use, logging and timber working technology, and the development of eco-sustainable social and cultural services involving the landscape, forests and forest plantations, encouraging exchange between practitioners and facilitating national and international collaboration. Sisef is involved in university and post-graduate education and training, organizing working groups, assemblies, congresses, symposia, seminars, meetings and publications in collaboration with other Italian and international scientific associations. The Society actively encourages training and experimental research by young researchers, offering scholarships developed also in partnership with public and private bodies and international organizations. Sisef works in close collaboration with government ministries, environmental associations and important international institutions (e.g., FAO, European Forest Institute, IUFRO).
Sisef is a founding member of AlberiItalia, together with SlowFood and RomagnaAcque.
The Society’s 256 members (2020 data) work, study or are interested in forest culture and land management.
Sisef organises a national conference every two years. The next conference, to be held in Orvieto, is scheduled for 21-23 February 2022

Forests and trees are increasingly recognised as playing a role in collective and individual wellbeing. The role of trees and forests in preserving biodiversity and ensuring healthy rural, urban and peri-urban environments has long been acknowledged, with the result that forest therapy is now being adopted as a means of treating and preventing psycho-physiological disorders. Trees and forests are a renewable, sustainable source of timber ensuring the viable livelihood of marginal regions. It is generally acknowledged, however, that the supply chain of primary resource management and processing must be geared to ensuring environmental health and safeguard.
The Society’s participation is also aimed at raising awareness of the complex profession of forestry and agroforestry management, even in an urban environment. It is a field that involves not only safeguarding the natural ecosystem and biodiversity but also guaranteeing water quality and an adequate environment-friendly supply of natural products to markets.
